1. Racing Wheels Are Expensive. One of the biggest drawbacks of investing in a racing wheel is its price. Compared to traditional gamepads or keyboards, racing wheels are pretty expensive. The best sim racing wheels with advanced features and powerful force feedback technology can easily cost hundreds of dollars.
None required a wheel BUT a game like project cars 2 was designed with a controller in mind for consoles. E.g. Dirt Rally. I played with controller for a bit. But switching to a wheel was a lot more fun and immersive and I got much better results. Try looking for a used Logitech driving force GT, with luck around $45.
Best overall: Logitech G920 Racing Wheel. Best premium option: Fanatec CSL Elite Starter Bundle. Best budget option: HORI Racing Wheel Overdrive. Best wheel for PS5: Thrustmaster T300RS GT Racing
